Q: For the past two months I have tried multiple times to transfer money to another members account. Everytime I get the general error message. Is there a problem with this function?
A: When transferring monies between accounts you need to type in that members account number then instead of putting checking or savings for the account it's being deposited to, you must put
01 (for savings) or 02 (for checking).
Q: I have a car loan or a visa credit card with the Akron Firefighters Credit Union. I would like to pay both of those using the monies in my checking account at the Credit Union. How can I go about making those payments if I can't make it into the Credit Union?
A: We have a few different options for you. You can call the Credit Union during business hours and have monies transferred to make your payments. We also have a night drop deposit box in the parking lot where you can drop off payments to be made after Credit Union hours or simply mail your payment to us.
Q: What are the qualifications for the Skip -A- Program?
A: Your loan will have to be current, no modifications done within the past 12 months, you must sign a form and pay the $25.00 fee. You will also have to let us know at least 10 days before your loan is due. Skip -A- Pay can't be done on any Real Estate or Home Equity Loans.
Q: Why didn't I receive a tax statement?
A: Not everyone will receive a tax statement. You must have earned a yearly interest of $10.00 for your shares account and an amount of $600.00 on Home Equity loans. If you didn't earn at least that amount you will not receive a tax statement.
Q: I had an extra payroll deposit go into my account which caused my loan to paid twice on the same day. Why did this happen?
A: Our computer system has no way of knowing that the second deposit is an extra deposit. To avoid this, please contact the Credit Union when you are expecting an extra deposit then we will make sure a double payment isn't applied to your loan.
Q: What is the minimum dollar amount to open a certificate of Deposit?
Q: What is the year to date interest I received on my savings account?
A: Call or visit the Credit Union and we will be able to give you the year to date amount on your account.
Q: I have fraudulent transactions on my account, what do I need to do in order to dispute these charges?
A: To begin the process you must visit the Credit Union and sign a form disputing the fraudulent transactions.
Q: My debit card is starting to crack in half, can I get a new one?
A: We can order a new card, there is a $15.00 charge and it will take 7-10 business days for you to receive your card. Your pin # will remain the same.
Q: My loan payment will be a couple of days late, will that be a problem?
A: You do have a 10day grace period. After the 10 day grace period you will be charged a $15.00 fee. After 30 days past due it will be reported to the credit reporting agency.
Q: How do I go about signing up for the mobile application?
A: If you have a droid or apple phone you can go to either the google play store or the apple store on your phone or IPAD and in the search bar you want to type in: "Akron Firefighters Credit Union". It should automatically pop up for you. After it pops up, you want to go ahead and download the app to your phone or Ipad. You must be signed up for homebanking on your computer first before using the app. After you download the app you can log on using your account number for your log in ID and your password will be whatever you set up for homebanking.
Q: I would like to apply for a loan, what are the 1st things I need to do to apply?
A: You will first need to fill out a loan application. You can fill out the loan application online by going to our website or you can stop in at the Credit Union and fill out a paper application. You will also need to provide a month worth of paystubs from all your sources of income, which you can drop off at the Credit Union, Fax over to the Credit Union or e-mail them to the Loan Administrator. If you are self employed, the loan administrator will need the last 2 years worth of taxes including all the schedules. After the Loan Administrator receives all this information they will give you a call.
