Use your debit card to build your savings.

each time you make a purchase with your debit card, we will round up the purchase total to the nearest dollar amount and transfer the difference from your checking account into your savings account. Your savings will grow every time you use your debit card! Every cup of coffee, every bag of groceries or tank of gas leads to more savings for you! What an easy way to save!

Designate your Save the Change savings account and watch it grow!

Deposit the change into an existing savings account or Christmas club, or have us set up a separate savings so you can save for something special, like a vacation.

How it works:

When you use your debit card, you will see the transaction amount post to your share draft account for the purchase amount. Then you will see the "change" amount post to your checking account separately for the amount that will be transferred into your savings account.

Example:

Total purcahse amount: $29.33
Amount posted to checking: $29.33
Amount posted to savings: $0.67
Save the change: $0.67
Total posted to checking: $30.00

We will match the "Change" for your first 10 transactions:

That means that Akron Firefighters Credit Union will contribute the same amount as the change that you save for the first 10 transactions after you sign up. The matched amount will be credited to your savings account by the end of the following month.
